I work in black and white as well as color photography, offering framed prints as well as photo greeting cards and photo magnets. I have had shows in Arcata and Eureka over the past year, and have taken part in photo contests sponsored by the Humboldt Arts Council. My work is carried for sale at several shops in the area, as well as the Arcata Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center in Arcata. In the past year, I took part in the recent Humboldt Artisanís Christmas Crafts & Art Fair at Redwood Acres, the Fieldbrook Annual Art, Crafts, Food & Wine Festival, and the Arcata Main Street Art & Music on the Plaza, as well as other events.
The photographs I sell were, for the most part, taken within the past four years, although a few older ones still find their way in occasionally. I shoot locally; almost all of my photos were taken within an hourís drive of my home in Arcata.
My photographic subject matter is primarily nature/scenic, yet I will photograph anything that I find interesting. I strive for sharpness of detail and very fine grain, a process which requires slow, expensive films, chemicals, and the use of a tripod, in my attempt to achieve a fine artistic quality in my photographs.
